In her Florence speech Theresa May said: “because of our history and geography, the EU never felt to us like an integral part of our national story”.
In response, I tweeted this thread. Here in one post, and in no particular order, are the images I tweeted, and a couple of others might have snuck in too.
Perhaps she just intended to mean that you do not understand our Common Law & its attitude to our rights’ while we don’t get the kind of disdain to democracy we are seeing in Spain, this Sunday morning!
I don’t understand this fetishisation of common law or the bizarre fear that the EU somehow threatens it. As to invoking the situation in Spain in this context, well my twitter thread here is all I have to say in that regard: https://twitter.com/ottocrat/status/914759435318431744
I enjoyed the extra graphics.
